Logo of the Fuji Japanese Language School Fukuoka Many students of different nationalities, and ages have studied at the "Fuji Japanese Language School Fukuoka". The one-on-one Japanese lessons we provide are generally designed so our students can use practical Japanese in an everyday work environment, or in daily life settings. Since our Japanese language lessons are private 1 on 1 lessons, the student will not be placed with with other students of varying Japanese language ability, allowing our teachers to focus on each individual international student, and achieve quick results, whether they are beginner, intermediate, or advanced students. The Genki, and Minna no Nihongo Japanese language textbook series
"Genki", and "Minna no Nihongo"
We mainly use the "Genki", and "Minna no Nihongo" Japanese language textbook series. You may use the school textbook when you first come in for a free trial lesson. Also you will not be forced to purchase any textbook right away, until we are sure which textbooks, and materials are the best fit for you. Once we know, which textbooks are the best for your Japanese language studies, you will be asked to purchase your own copy.
Volumes 1, and 2 of the Genki Japanese language textbook, and workbook series
"Genki" textbooks, and workbooks
The "Genki" Japanese language textbooks, and workbooks are a popular Japanese language course book series, widely used at Japanese language schools throughout Japan. Since all the explanations, and instructions are written in English, the books are easy to use for international students. The English used in the textbooks and workbooks is not complicated, also making it easier for non-native English speakers to use. The "Genki" Japanese language textbooks, and workbooks include a listening CD that allows you to listen to certain parts of the textbook, and workbook. The listening disc is a CD-ROM containing digital MP3 audio files that can be played on a computer or a digital audio player, but not on a CD player. The "Genki" Japanese language textbook costs 3,960 yen (including tax). The "Genki" Japanese language workbook costs 1,870 yen (including tax).

The "Minna no Nihongo" textbook series have been a popular series used by learners of Japanese for many years. Both the textbooks, and workbooks are written only in Japanese, which require the support of a Japanese teacher to explain the subject matter. However the textbook provides an abundance of good examples for the student to learn from. Although the textbook has an accompanying workbook with ample supplementary exercises, the textbook also contains plenty of exercises, for the students to go through. The inclusion of a regular listening CD in both the "Minna no Nihongo" textbook, and workbook make the listening exercises easy to practice at home. The "Minna no Nihongo" Japanese language textbook costs 2,750 yen (including tax). The "Minna no Nihongo" Japanese language workbook costs 970 yen (including tax).

The ¡ÈShin Nihongo aiueo¡É Japanese language textbook/workbook is perfectly suited for learners of Japanese who are still very new to the Japanese language, and need to yet familiarize themselves with the reading and writing of hiragana, and katakana. This textbook/workbook also covers some basic Japanese words, and phrases, which are necessary for everyday life in Japan.

As you can see in the picture above, the ¡ÈShin Nihongo aiueo¡É Japanese language textbook/workbook is entirely written in hiragana, with only some pages using katakana. This is very important for beginner students, because it encourages them to not rely on romaji, when learning to read Japanese. After the students are reasonably comfortable with using hiragana, katakana, and some elementary Japanese phrases, he or she can then go on to use the other textbooks depicted on this page.

This popular kanji textbook contains all 1006 kanji that are taught to all elementary school age children in Japan. All Japanese children between the ages of 6 and 12 must learn all of the 1006 Chinese characters that are taught in this textbook. "Book of All 1006 Kanji Learned in Elementary School" was not specifically published for international students, so it does not include any English instructions. However, it has become a popular textbook among international students, and is used in Japanese language schools throughout Japan, because all the essential kanji are contained within this single, 150 page textbook.

As you can see in the picture above, the Chinese characters only appears once in this 150 page kanji textbook, so the student must practice writing the kanji in the correct depicted stroke order in his or her own kanji practice notebook. One of the best ways to learn kanji is to practice writing the Chinese characters repeatedly. If you truly want to become fluent in Japanese, then being able to write kanji will be essential.
TOBIRA Gateway to Advanced Japanese Learning Through Content and Multimedia

The official name of this textbook is ¡ÈTOBIRA Gateway to Advanced Japanese Learning Through Content and Multimedia¡É. However we simply refer to it as the ¡ÈTobira¡É textbook. This textbook is great for teaching Japanese to intermediate, and lower-advanced level students. The conversations in this book read very naturally, and much of the content is covered through Japanese history, and culture.

Students who have completed the ¡ÈGenki¡É, or the ¡ÈMinna no Nihongo¡É textbook series should be able to pass the J.L.P.T. N3 level. The next step after ¡ÈGenki¡É, or ¡ÈMinna no Nihongo¡É is ¡ÈTobira¡É. The ¡ÈTobira¡É textbook is great for improving the student¡Çs reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar proficiency. It is well suited for intermediate level Japanese learners, who are aiming to pass the J.L.P.T. N2 level.

J.L.P.T. Prep. Textbooks
We use specialized J.L.P.T. textbooks in our J.L.P.T. preparation lessons. By using specialized J.L.P.T. textbooks designed specifically for the J.L.P.T. the student is able to study, and practice example J.L.P.T. questions with the teacher in preparation for their next test.
The students are required to use the textbooks on this page. The teacher will inform the student on which textbooks the student will need to purchase. We will not use other Japanese language textbooks or material, unless the student wishes to learn Japanese as it pertains to a specific field the student is interested in.
